Attic tank water hammer fix.

    I have water hammer and noisy fill in the attic with the standard ball cock type.


    Tried changing out the white low flow for the red high flow but the ball cock wouldn't shut off then, flowed to overflow outside.


    Tried to fit a fluidmaster Pro 75B but the half inch brass shank is too short because of the step in the tank.

    Is it possible to get a threaded shank extension? What would you suggest?
