    Hi,

    Looking for recommendations please.

Anyone here using a SIM only plan with international minutes?

I see Tesco 30-day contract with unlimited calls and data with 300 mins for €20 per month. Not sure how reliable their network is? I need the international minutes for some work clients but also need reliable data coverage for when I am out and about in the sticks using maps to try and locate more rural clients. I am based in the west of Ireland so some areas can be quite remote.

Currently paying €60/month on VF but out of contract now.

Tesco uses the 3 network and has a good reputation for being reliable. Lyca uses the same network but might be better value. You'd need to look at the per-minute rates for the places you usually call.

If your phone package includes calls to Irish landlines, you could look into Skype to Go. Dialling is a bit convoluted but it might work out more cost effective.

Three sim only and international minutes add-on.

100min 4.92 extra. All data and all calls included in the €30 base fee.

But the Tesco one seems to be as good and cheaper and the same network, so if the international country you call is on the Tesco list, I'd go for that.

And as it's sim only, you can jump ship if it doesn't suit

Avoid any convoluted Skype or VoIP type calls if it's business use as bad connection can come across as unprofessional.

If you have family members with three or broadband, their family plans give up to 20% further discount.

I think I will give Tesco SIM only a try, only a 30 day contract so nothing to lose really. Will update after couple of weeks

Lyca Mobile have their Go Unlimited bundle on offer for €10 (per 30 days) for 12 months - this includes 100 international minutes. They use the Three network.

I see what you mean, but Skype to Go involves making a normal call to a Dublin number, and being forwarded to the international one. The quality is as good as a normal phone call.
