During play, it changes the final word depending on the letters you have yet to uncover. Say the original secret word was CHART, and after 4 plays you uncovered HA (in their rightful place), but you had not yet played letters like CSPLKE... The computer could switch secret words to CHALK, CHAPS, PHASE, SHAPE, SHAKE. It re-configures the final word using whatever letters are leftover. Basically, you are fighting against the computers dictionary of available 5 letter words, as play goes on (...if that makes any sense.)

I get what you're saying, but it keeps moving the endpoint intentionally - hence the "adversarial" part of the game.

in wordle I get it in 3 - 4 on average. I can't solve an absurdle in less than 6 (and thats if I get lucky).

That's like getting Wordle on first guess. Their site says "The best possible score in Absurdle is 4 guesses." Please post your games, I would love to see your skill in action, cos it baffles me repeatedly. the night I got my first 5, I got about 4 or 5 more 5's after that. But I havent been able to get a 5 since lol

I would think a 5 should be the equivalent of a 2 in the original game.
