New Society Setup Queries

Apologies if wrong place. Looking at starting up a local golf society and hoping someone here may be able to assist with two queries

    1. Do societies usually take out insurance for members? Is it necessary?

    2. Does the society have to be registered with a national body? If it is optional, what are the benefits?

    Thanks

Speaking for society I'm Secretary of:

    1. No we don't. I believe paying a green fee you will be covered by the club's insurance.

    2. No you don't. I don't think there are any significant benefits. We're not and haven't found any impediments.

I'd be happy to chat with you if you want to PM me.
