    Gentleman De Mee (Thurles 13.45)

    Judez Lefou (Huntingdon 14.35)

    Ash Tree Meadow (Thurles 15.30)

    O'Moore Park (Thurles 17.00)

    9/1

Skimpy enough odds for an accum but I couldn't make a case for any of their opponents. Blackmore on Embrun Mitja in the first is my only worry, but I'm worried about the jockey rather than the horse. Hopefully another performance like Dolcita yesterday to kick me off.

munster is on at a decent price anyhow 😊

Was evens earlier on, and has drifted out to ~7/4.. didn't bother looking at the race earlier as was 6/4, and thought was too short. Hopefully the horse can do the biz this evening, but I'll not be on this time... might have a look and see if he's worth a decent bet, if he goes to 15/8 or bigger.. 7 horse race and am a bit wary, cos lto there were 11, and there was a lot of pace on.. Will it be the case in the 7 o'c? - Who knows? think he deserves €10 or €20 win - at least... either that, or no bet at all.. am swaying towards no bet atm 😃

I have to say, I think the lay of the year is in the 1.17 at Ffos Las. The fav Lubeat for as at around 11/10 is way under priced here. I have it priced 7/2 or 4/1 and I honestly can't see it winning. The horse looks more of a chaser and with them going up in distance here, I think that might the the ultimate goal. Nice short price to lay in my opinion. I'll be dumbfounded if this wins.

Looks way too short anyway that Lubeat Foras in the 1.17.. he might win, but how he's anywhere near evens is hard to fathom.. three runs for three different owners/trainers already.. having his second run for his latest connections today.. should like the ground going on his bumper run, but that was soft - is closer to heavier today,, if I was on 'the machines' I'd be happy enough to lay him at up to 11/8 (~2.37 or thereabouts).. enough reasons to be against him at the prices anyhow,,

It's actually shorter now at odds on, hard to believe. The horse won a point but nothing in comparison to that ex mullins horse yesterday pont aven. Its been a long time since I have seen a horse with this kind of form so short, and I wouldn't say the horse is a great jumper of hurdles either. More a chaser in the making. I'm looking forward to watching this 1.17 race.

Looks like a 6/4 shot to me, at least.. anything shorter be lay material.. wouldn't have him as big as 7/2 though.. 😊

Yep, race panned out exactly as I thought. The horse should be a half decent chaser in time.

The 1.15 at fairyhouse, the fav gentleman de mee at 1/2 looks nailed on. Excellent form over hurdles is plain to see. And looks to have the jumping of the fences sussed. Should win easily here in my opinion.

No joy in that race, the 1,17..

I'd be sickened if I was on that jolly.. Travelled like a dream.. couldn't have asked for more.. but the jockey never tried to pass the (at various intervals) 1 or 2 horses in front of him.... not until it was too late and coming up to two or three out - when they were all 'under the pump'... fav had nothing left to offer then.. Likely the jockey didn't care if the horse won or lost... another day/another factfinding mission 😒 😂 If he really wanted him to win, he'd (Sean Bowen, the jockey) have sent the horse on 6 furlongs out...

just my observation.. didn't back him, so am entitled to an opinion on it...

If in a 'better race' (a handicap basically) , and on similar going, I wouldn't mind being on him next time out, when there's a few in it to 'take him along further' or whatever it is the jockeys say..

No joy in 1.35.. Lifetime Legend looked all over the winner, but he fell 2 out 😓 That's racing/punting! 😆

Talking about jockeys, and me looking at flat racing in Newcastle this evening, this interesting fact popped up: Cam Hardie has ridden ONE winner out of 156 rides in the last 12months here, it can't be just a bad luck right? 1 winner + 27 places horsed, to make it look a bit better. On the other hand Gianluca Sanna has ridden 6 winners out of 30 rides on this course.

Now on what I'm tempted by tonight:

5:30 Dutch Decoy e/w, I don't think this horse should be 4th in the betting, Parallel World is lacking course form, Tommy Taylor has scored a hattrick here recently but that was over 6f and they're racing over 7f tonight... Dutch Decoy went very close here a year ago off the mark of 86, now is running off 81, he shouldn't be that out of form after winning here last month over CD and is only raised by 2lb.

Couldn't solve that 5.30 race at all.. looked too tricky to give it a good look, so left it go...

Used to like that Cam Hardie.. he did used to ride a lot of winners for the Brittain team, a while back.. Harry Russell probably a better proposition nowadays - with his 3lb claim..

besta luck with Dutch Decoy j@u ! Will cheer for him, as if I backed him meself 😄 (if I is watching) ; )

6:00 favorite Bernard Spierpoint has definitely strong claims and might resume his winning ways after bumping into very strong rival last time but I'm more interested in Crunchie who is blinkered on his hdc debut after showing some ability in his previous runs, I'm quite annoyed I missed 8/1 on him and had to take 6/1, e/w.

7:30 I'm on favorite Engles Rock 11/4 who won well here and today has a claimer on to offset the raise in weight. GL and have fun!

No bet for me in 7 o'clock race on Clear Angel that's probably gonna win. I'd be more interested in Due A Win more but it's 7 runners race, only 2 places pay, so I leave it for now.

In the 2.35 at Huntington the fav judex le fou is around 11/10 but the market is haywire it seems, they are not sure what to do. I think the horse will win. The horse looked awkward, but after winning it might have the hang of things.

That all I can see for the afternoon but keeping an eye on a few at Newcastle later on. Good luck all

That Crunchie getting backed in 6 o'c.. Gluck with him... best priced 9./2 now... that Lingfield run is interesting alright, and would give him a right chance... think Bernard Spierpoint will go very close.. had a look at Nellie French, but couldn't make a case for her..

didn't look at anything else, or I know I would have ended up with backing 4 or 5 in it.. 😋 anything apart from Nellie and I won't care too much about who wins..

Don't think Henry Brooke (?) tried too hard in that 2.10 on Clondaw Pretender... sure he was booked to be down for that horse.. must have read it wrong, as seemingly Toby Wynne (7) was on board :( maybe it were jockey change..

That's enough racewatching/punting for me for one day... one that looked a cert fell,, another one that didn't try too hard... 😓 Started off fairly well too, with a 10/1 winner - woulda been better if there weren't three other picks in same race :) will watch F Las 4.40, and leave it at that.. GL anyone what has a few selections to go!

Just keeping an eye on the evening racing. The fav in the 4.25 at Newcastle looks a cert in my opinion. Carausius is around even money and has come in in price. I had it priced 4/7 so evens still looks decent value. The horse seems to love Southwell but even with the 4lbs rise in weight I think it'll scoot in here. Looking forward to the race.

I'm on Carausius myself in a double with O'Malley Park (17.00 Thurles)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,191 ✭✭✭SonOfGoat

I think you could be onto a nice win double there. Omoore Park looks nice in the 5.0. Good luck with it

If anyone ever sees me betting on a horse at Newcastle again, report me to the moderators and make sure they ban me from the forum.

Lol, I kind expect 20/1 shot to roll in there in the next, favorite evens money in the maiden race based on insider knowledge? maybe? Interesting to watch but no bet for me.

Looks like the money has come for Deevious Beau

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭j@utis

Sorry, got that wrong, it's 50/1 shot that takes the prize tonight.

Did you see that 2nd race in Newcastle? Watch the replay, it's absolutely hilarious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭j@utis

And guess what Nellie does? 11/1 too. Crunchie was keeping on and then suddenly wheels fell off, something didn't work out right, I'll put him into notebook to keep an eye on him.

Handy win for Clear Angel, looked like was going to be short of room at one point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,065 ✭✭✭j@utis

No luck today. Engles Rock ran out of racing room in the last when still full of stream, so annoying! Dutch Decoy out of money by 1/2 length...

But look Cam Hardie gets his 2nd winner in recent history in Newcastle, and I didn't back his ride after looking at it for ages but then I had to check the jockey/trainer stats and go nah, no way 😂
