Bennett is winning this game on his own.

    Unreal goal

Waterford up by six points, but it's a contained performance. There's at least another gear in them.

TBH, I'd have expected Waterford to get 6 goals tonight. Cork have not solved last year's problems.

Kingston and O'Sullivan are nice guys but not up to it.

Take Mark Coleman for instance - wants to do all the lovely things in hurling, passing, making runs, scoring points. But when it comes to protecting the center and full back ....

Waterford up by 6 but still missing a good few. That full forward line get the ball they'll go to town.

Waterford keep getting goals just at the right times

Cork are so open it’s embarrassing

Cork get it back to 4 but conceed a 4th, story of the game in a nutshell.

Waterfords 22nd goal for the league this year

Such a terrible Cork center back and full back line in terms of physical defence. Waterford should have 6 or 7 now.

No game management in midfield either.

Fitzgibbon is a wing forward, playing midfield - like Coleman, doesn't understand his defensive responsibilities - certainly doesn't perform them, anyway.

Every hurling forward in the country would love to be playing against this Cork defence

Cork are 8 pts down 2 minutes to go and still hand passing around the half back line

8 points down, 69th minute, hardly surprising.

Mark Keane wouldn’t get on the Ballygunnar team and yet he gets game time for Cork.

    Cork are at nothing.

Waterford are on a mission this year big time!

Its embarrassing to concede so many goals After their performance in the AI final last year....have they learned nothing??

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭citykat

Waterford by 6. Could’ve scored another 3 goals.

Limerick will eat Cork without salt. It will be savagery.

Playing a small wing back who just wants to run forward and shoot as your centre back is asking for trouble!

Not a bad game. Cork cane back into it well, twice, but conceded goals straight after.

Same failings for Cork as always, scored the same number of times, 24, but the likes of Cahalane shouldn't be within an area roar of the squad, let alone the full back line.

Good win for Waterford, will they step up again in the championship and challenge Limerick - only time will tell.

It's weird how they haven't addressed the full back issue, and with The Rock in the management team....

Just pick somebody and stick with them, let them grow into the role

That little ticket with the cup is the best thing to happen to the GAA in a long time.

Agreed, well and truly found out tonight, it's all well and good beating the likes of kilkenny but Waterford are different gravy, they'll murder them in the championship.

Delighted for Waterford, they were a better team than the rewards they got since 2017.

Still dont think they have the stopping of championship Limerick however.

Tipp and Clare managers should sleep a little easier tonight. Limerick and Waterford look nailed on to emerge from Munster but last year's beaten finalists would no longer seem to be third favourites. Cork could represent Ireland at the Olympics in the relay.

  • Registered Users Posts: 948 ✭✭✭conor05

    I think the exact opposite.

I think Limerick will find it hard to beat Waterford in the championship

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,193 ✭✭✭evolvingtipperary101

Or is the gap between Waterford and the rest of the pack huge? And will the gap between Limerick and Waterford still be too big?

Limerick and Waterford just way out in front of everybody else? Unless Shefflin can band Galway together...

Cork might still whip Tipp and Clare - wouldn't be surprised, would you?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,328 ✭✭✭FintanMcluskey

What are you basing that assumption on?

Surely odds are that limerick would be heavy favourites and Waterford would find it difficult to beat them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,193 ✭✭✭evolvingtipperary101

Yeah, I just can't see that Cork back line holding up runners like Hegarty, Morrissey, Lynch, Gillane...

They set up to run at teams and keep running at them...that's great but... you need to set up to stop runners too... another full back line hung out to dry.

Agree about Cork trimming Tipp and Clare.

Galway are gone for a while imo.

You've no business trying to stop Limerick when the spine of the team is over 30 like Galway's is.

Limerick and Waterford are setting the pace, but Waterford have yet to show they can cause Limerick problems in Championship.
