SNAs in primary schools - a bit apprehensive!

I'm training as an SNA right now. I'm male and have two young daughters, if that makes any difference.

I've applied to volunteer with two schools in Balbriggan as an SNA to get experience - am just waiting on vetting etc.

I'm a little apprehensive really - what's my best way of getting to know the schools/children? I just want to fit in and help as much as possible while learning as much as I can.

Any advice would be great as I've no experience with children with additional needs and tbh the course (Level 6) seems to be just a bare introduction to the whole world of the SNA.
