Pure telecom reviews

I am currently with eir (broadband, tv and phone). Part fibre so approx 10mb/s speed. About 3-4 years away from getting FTTH.

as I have saorview, I don't use eir tv that much so I am considering cancelling the service and switching to pure telecom.

I see on other threads that pure telecom supply FRITZ routers, which apparently are considered very good. Would this router apply to me also?

Any pure telecom users that can advise on whether they have good or bad experience with them?

Similar service as eir just it is so much easier to deal with them

I switched to Pure and they sent me a dodgy router. I asked for a new one and it was sent out. I forgot to send the dodgy one back and without telling me to send it back took 80 euro from my account. That was kind of annoying but partly my fault however their routers are really poor. My MacBook and iPhone don't work as quickly or as well with Pure broadband and wifi.

I changed to Pure because Sky were charging 55 a month and pure were only 30. I'd go back to Sky in a heartbeat ( I did call Pure to see if I was still in the cooling off period but too late) because their routers and service is, although a bit dearer, much better than anything Pure can offer.

    Don't switch to Pure.

Service is much better as the company is smaller. Had a small issue at the start. Couldn't call during office hours as I was in work, send a detailed email before leaving the house in the morning with steps I had tried and what the issue was. When I finished work, checked my email and they had arranged an engineer to come for the next morning. Couldn't be better.

Leaving them today though because the initial 12 month offer is up. Moving to sky purely because of price. Will probably change back again in 12 months.

Have you tried contacting them to see if they could give you a deal to retain you as a customer?

I'm not sure if ISP's do that, but maybe worth a shot.
