Replacing a grand Picasso

In the market to replace my old diesel grand Picasso. Kids are approaching teenage years so want to buy something else to keep for a few years.

settled on either an a6 avant or bmw grand tourer as want to fulfill my brand midlife crisis. Also want petrol as don’t do mileage for diesel, don’t want thing resembling an SUV and hybrids have tiny boots and we like to do camping in the summer. Our other car is a leaf so we need something non electric for long journeys.

looking at these two which are in my budget. Any thoughts. A lot of cars are Japanese imports I notice if you after petrol automatic and this example seems to have crazy low mileage.

I also looking at northern Irish reg cars but seems like 2018 is oldest available.

Guess it all comes down to personal taste/ choice at end of the day.......looking at these 2 I'd go for the Audi all day long/ no brainer.

It’s a 7 seater like the Picasso almost the same boot size as it too. But a roof bag or rack with handle space differential I think.

The BMW is a bit smaller than your current car, I don’t think it will do any of the desirability stuff that a premium brand normally gives, it’s a pretty gawky, awkward looking thing. You don’t want something resembling an SUV fair enough, but this model is pretty much universally thought of as ugly.

I would say the Citroen probably does the MPV thing better too.

A front wheel drive 7 seater isn’t really what BMW are known for, so beyond the brand, and the nice infotainment, I don’t see the appeal. A 5 series estate would directly compete with the A6 Avant.

If you want to stick with a MPV type vehicle then something like a VW Touran would do the job alot better than a BMW 2 Series Gran Active Tourer, you will get a slightly newer car for nearly the same money too.

I am of the obisate opinion here. I think the BMW active Tourer is classy and stylish unlike the big ugly Audi.

It will also be much better and nicer to drive the the boring VW mentioned by another poster.

Another option for you could be a Ford Grand C-Max or an S-Max.

Why what's depressing about it? They are good to drive, stylish, well designed cars. Maybe the build in them could have been a bit better but that's about it.
