Is there an easy way of making turkey & hang dinner? I really don't want to roast a whole turkey.

I would like to make my own turkey and ham dinner of a sunday, but I don't want to go through the hassle of doing a whole turkey. I know I can buy little packs of roasting bacon, like 500g or something, so that's fine.

What's a good short cut batchelor way of cooking this?

Just buy a turkey crown

You might still get the frozen aldi turkey joint in the tin trays €5.50... With or without stuffing. Can get a €4 ham in dunnes.

Wont get it much easier than that

You can buy a turkey joint in a tinfoil tray that cooks in 50 mins all year round from the big Irish supermarkets.

I know "turkey and ham" is usually slices of white meat turkey but I much prefer the other bits so I go with turkey drumsticks which are usually very big and cheap. Just pull apart once roast and add to the ham

Just cut the leg off a turkey and cook that. Freeze the fecking rest of it.

Bradys Family Ham!!!! Not sure if this is just for Christmas, but they do a package of ready cooked turk & hang, wait for it..... DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR. I have never successfully cooked a ham, so Bradys (literally) saved my bacon for the past decade or so. Last year I got both delivered. You simply carve, reheat & bask in the compliments. May cost a few bob extra, but sooooooooo worth it. Bon apitit! P.S. I am no way connected to Bradys.

One of the highlights of Christmas is the smell of the dinner cooking imo. The ham on Christmas eve and everything else on Christmas day.

A lot of people don't have freezers that fit a fecking turkey even one with the legs off. Also you get 2 or 3 sets of legs in some packs which is a lot of turkey to feckin freeze.

Buy a decent chicken cooked or uncooked. As nice if not better than Turkey and serve with you ham.

The easiest way is to pick up something like this just cook the veg and potatoes and heat these in the oven. No perfect but will save a lot of hassle.

Are these any good? I saw one in Aldi's freezer wrapped in bacon. Anybody tried that?
