Power washer with foam gun

Hi All,

I am looking for recommendations for a power washer with a foam gun 🔫

Budget= under €100 💯

I am doing high mileage which results in fine dirt all over the car.

I have access to an external water tap outside the house and a private car park.

I don't have an electrical socket outside but could probably get the connection via the window.

Karcher K2 compact or something like the Halfords own brand PW20.

I have the Karcher K2 compact. Bought it years ago. The hose connection constantly leaked, broke twice, the lance caused issues but was replaced under warranty and the foam bottle wasn't great but was also replaced under warranty. The pressure on both is weak, although in fairness I'm comparing it to my Kranzle and Lavor machines which both have over 135bar, and can be adjusted up or down, compared to the Karcher's 70-ish.

The Halfords one can come with foam bottle for an extra tenner or so, but still come in at under the ton. The Karcher is about a hundred and the foam bottle cost me 15.

If its simply to foam the car either will serve you well, but for anything even slightly "heavy duty" you might consider upping the budget a little.

Other brands include the Mikita compact with 100 bar, Nilfisk compact with similar pressure/cost, but I've no experience with either.

I always recommend a Nilfisk pressure washer of some flavor. They are great value imo and I have one over 10 years now and it's still going strong. The only thing I've replaced on it has been the hose which just formed a crack over time like most hoses. Replacement hose cost €18 from amazon. Plenty of snow foam lance bottles available on the likes of amazon for it also as the one that normally comes with them are useless imo, just make sure the connection or adapter fits the make of pressure washer you have.

Regarding outside power source. I just bought a weather proof extension 25m lead/cable reel and run it through an open window to an interior socket. These can be picket up in the likes of screwfix.ie or other DIY shops for reasonable money or special offer from time to time:
