Could the FM104 Phoneshow be brought back?

Cormac Moore did his final broadcast on FM104 last week, so that's the end of his show, Room 104. Could we see, or should I say, hear, the return of the FM104 Phoneshow? Maybe with Kennedy in the hotseat again? I believe there's enough interest out there to warrant a reboot of the show.

Would they be able to rehire all the fake callers again? I’d say most have moved on.

    Why would you want to?

It was absolute drivel, made worse by the fact that most of it was scripted. "Reality Radio" if you will.

Appealed to the lowest common denominator.

Q102, Spin1038 and 98fm have all been allowed by the bai to drop their daily talkshow in recent years. I presume FM104 are planning the same

    Please God no.

AK is on Newstalk a fair bit now. Even hearing his voice gives me flashbacks to that phone show rubbish.

Though I used to enjoy when callers called him Chris. Went on for ages and it really riled him up.

Adrian and Jeremy have a podcast now, ‘Opinions matter’. Seems to be fairly same as the phone show.

There is far too much talk on Irish radio. What we need are better music shows, not more talk-based drivel.

But go back 10/15 years when we had djs who just played the music, E.G Larry Gogan, Tim Kelly, Derek Flood, Posters on this site said that they were old fashioned and boring

People will always give out. It's the point of boards :)

Adrian was presenting The Hard Shoulder on Newstalk during the week, actually came across very well for hosting current affairs from his previous gigs.

There was something a bit off about Kennedy.

at least with Chris Barry it was a bit tongue in cheek and a bit of a pîss rip. He wasn’t trying to hide that…

The Kennedy fella was actually trying to masquerade it as something a bit current affairs and cutting edge… he’d let some absolute dîckhead away with murder and then cut somebody off just because they’d annoy him…or have the ‘wrong opinion’

not the savviest of moves by newstalk either to hire a bloke who was convicted of drink driving to present such a show…as Kennedy was in ‘16…

Station gone down in my estimation…

Hilarious!!! Because everyone else that works or has every worked for Newstalk or the wider radio group are fine upstanding citizens.

AK admitted his mistake, dealt with it on his show.

What about the Cork dj that had a bit of personal pleasure on the airplane. He was still getting tv gigs with RTÉ after that incident.

Have fm104 replaced Cormac's old show with another live one or is just automation now?

Room 104 should still be going. They advertised for a presenter for it back in May though and I haven’t heard of anyone getting it permanently yet
