Good Morning Boarders - I have had feed back previously - with thanks

Would appreciate comments/advice on the following:

In a situation where renovation / extension works achieve the Min B2 - 125 kWh/m2yr

Is it necessary for the works to comply with the air permeability standard set out in the 2019 Regs and

Is it necessary for the Av U value for Openings to achieve the 1.4 U value standard as set out in the Regs ?

    thanks in advance

    Descol

No to both from what I recall. You can achieve the B2 rating in whatever means you can, where economically, technically and functionally feasible. If you were replacing the windows/doors, they should comply with current regs, but if not you're just retaining the existing.

For example, increase in attic insulation and changing from oil/gas to heat pump may be enough to get you to a B2 (depending on the existing). The works you should undertake to get to a B2 depends on what works you're doing that are requiring you to comply with the Major Renovations section anyway.
