New Double Bed, Bed is too short (188cm) and Mattress is too Wide (140cm)

Hi folks,
Just wondering if I'm going mad. We just bough a standard Double bed and it's an Ottoman so mattress needs to sit in the frame. Issue is that it appears the Bed would not hold a standard Double Mattress length of 190cm as it's simply too short with the Inner being only 188cm long and in fact shorter (183cm) after the Metal support is added for the Ottoman.
Next thing is the Mattress which on Harvey Norman Website is 135cm x 190cm. But it measures 140cm across ? And also about 193cm long if my measurements are correct.

Anyone have this experience before ?
