Irish Water Self Laying pipe

I'm considering applying for planning on a site which is accessed by a local road without a water main running by the entrance.

The likely entrance is about 200m away from a regional road with mains water and I'll own all the land in between the regional road and the site, so in theory I could lay a water pipe to the house without having to disturb the local road (and the associated massive cost).

Any chance Irish water would facilitate this? There's a mains fed livestock water trough on the site, if that helps at all

Yes, this is perfectly fine. I have an Agri connection to feed a few fields and they allowed me to tap the house into that and gave me an allowance of 240k ltrs or something like that. I had to dig about 600mtrs to reach it which was some dose. Bring a 1.5 inch pipe at least and bury it well down. IW will come out and test the pressure when you have it connected.

Just bring a water to the site from trough and you have water... i do not think you will be asked once its there...

Nothing, as it's still off the original Agri connection. I tapped into it myself on my side of the meter.
