    … oops

In an attempt to edit and simplify my post, it seems to have vanished into the nothingness from which it arose. Ah- such is life 😅

Perhaps the simplest pointer I could give would be [ ] . The focus on the space between things leads one to presence. 🙏

😂 …. Yes Remember the ‘pass the parcel’ game 🙂 When you’re present aspects of personality slowly become unwrapped….layer by layer….the ultimate gift lies beneath those layers … that’s the true 🎁😅 It can be pointed to but only the seeker can realise it. Happy Christmas 🎅🙂

Do you have this in podcast?

It looks important, but I'm a busy chap!

"Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives, and it puts itself into our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday." (John Wayne)

😅Great film & a good parody of religious external focused doctrine.

Great example 👍 The ‘I’m too busy’ thought seems to arise from you , but it was witnessed. That’s a super example of the egoic mind we are so used to. There’s always something easier or more important to do … anything but to present. Sometimes I find myself reading but my mind is elsewhere too -when you catch yourself (ego) do this …you make an increment of progress & dissolved a portion of ego 😅

This thread sounds like the beginnings of a death cult.

I was interacting with a bot on my electricity account earlier.

It's responses were quite similar to your posts.

Nature has its own mechanism of steering us to become present - more people become sick with fatigue-like symptoms, forcing them into a state of presence. This is especially so for ‘high flyer’ types who work excessively (mainly via egoic mind) and thrive on adrenal stress ( due to lack of presence) oblivious and out of tune with nature. Evolution marches on regardless. Conscious evolution is not purely random -it’s as though the higher (soul) self is programmed to ripen when the time is right. Collectively we are entering that time. 🌤

👍 It’s better to interact with real people. Someday people might feel emotionally attached to bots and fall in love with a robot. If the bot asks you on a date …politely decline 🙂

So what cult are you a member of, Surinamo? Or are you looking to start a new one?

  • The virus knows just how much we love social contact. In fact viruses are the foremost world experts on social contact: they spread by one victim breathing close enough to another potential victim, some of them are specialist in sexual contact. They should be brought into the argument to discuss the whole matter; that’s how major violence in the North was ended. You must involve the enemy.

Simple measures to become more present are really helpful in gaining clarity … that’s all 🙂

Eventually, as evolution marches on, humans will evolve to be immune from viruses. Like bats.

It's just you seem to be saying and offering a lot without really saying anything at all, which is the cornerstone of any successful cult.

So what's the real crux of your point, mindfulness? Being aware of yourself at a moment in time? It's possible to do these things pragmatically without the cult/soul/personification of nature speak - which is a huge turn off for a lot of people and raises many an eyebrow.

    Don't mention the war.

I almost mentioned it once but I think I got away with it

Sure, good qn 🙂 Yes, mindfulness is practicing presence. Being mindful/present is beneficial when chaos & uncertainty abounds. Also, being mindful calms the nervous system of stress. Muscles relax & the breathing pattern changes. Over time the racy mind slows down and you become more chilled 🙂 Benefits include dissolving of anxiety, fear stress. When these are eliminated and the chaotic mind slows down one is more attuned to their more natural rhythm, and thus become closer to nature.

A cult, as I imagine you’d define it wants something. Presence demands nothing and only you can access that…nobody can impose it, Actually it could be argued that we all live within one gigantic cult 😅 -your thought/awareness being a kind of currency -constantly distracted by the outside world. Tech companies profit on it, as do advertisements. The material world is constantly vying for our attention. So focusing awareness inside brings relief from that constant state of functioning. When you return to cognitive functioning, you become better/more clear headed/imaginative/a nicer person too 👍

I see ekhart tolle has been at the sauce again.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

😅 - you remind me of a young man who had his heart set on learning the bongos. In time he became most proficient & eventually mastered the art of bongo playing. A king of the bongos 😅 He would play with such gusto that he would enter the flow-state -his playing was enthralling -musician and bongo merging & becoming one. In that state of presence and non-thinking a wonderful energy would emanate from him and the sound of the drums - he had accessed the secret sauce you speak of (the present) and that sauce flowed through the rhythms.. in the air to all who sat & heard enthralled and enraptured. Sometimes he would suddenly stop! and crack a brief & witty joke only to resume playing as though he had never stopped as the audience would roll around in great fits of laughter. 😂 His state of presence had everyone in good humour 😀

If you ignore the past, you cannot learn any lessons.

If you ignore the future, you cannot adequately plan to implement many of the lessons you've learned.

If you focus only on the present, your experience of the present will not be as fulfilling as it could be. As it is an admixture of both, that makes up what you are experiencing right now.

You could argue that the future is more important than anything else in life. Tomorrow gives us a constant opportunity to better ourselves and even re-invent ourselves. But only if we have a positive attitude towards failure and setbacks.

Nothing wrong with being present in the moment, but it can be self-limiting when taken to extremes.
