Eligibility of Covid test question for multi-flight travel

    Hi all,

I have a question re covid test elgibility pre departure.

I fly with aerlingus from Dublin to Heathrow, then with Emirates from Heathrow to Sydney (via Dubai) on the same day (about 4-5 hours after we land in Heathrow).

Our covid tests are being taken in Dublin 2 days before departure. I have heard anecdotally that in some cases/airlines the covid test needs to be from your original flight destination (which from Emirates perspective is London). However, there's nothing on their site detailing that, and they are impossible to contact on social media or by phone (have spent hours and hours on hold), so I can't clarify this with them. Obviously getting a test in London rather than Dublin would be extremely awkward and maybe not possible given we'd only have about 4 hours to test and get results. But the big disaster we want to avoid is departing from London and being told our test is ineligible because it's from Dublin.

Does anyone have similar experience with covid tests and multi flight travel (specifically with Emirates), or even a suggestion for how to get in contact with them.

    Any help is much appreciated.

I recently flew from UK to Portugal with a negative test from Greece, so Ryanair at least were happy to accept one from the non-departure country.

Would you consider flying a day early into London and grabbing a test there for peace of mind? (there's loads of places in London)

Although with rules changing at the moment, I can see how this must be a bit of a nightmare to figure out! Considering Ireland and UK are both in the CTA, I would wager your test in Ireland would be totally valid, as mine was from Greece.

As for contacting, get your most 'followed' friend to tweet them maybe? Sad that's the way to get things these days but hopefully it helps in some way.
