Kerry Airport - RyanAir flight to Dublin

Yesterday I bought a Kerry to Dublin flight for Saturday Dec 4th and couldn't believe how cheap it was:

Eu 16.98 in total. That included a 40x20x25cm bag, the ticket price Eu 9.99, seat reservation of Eu 4 and SMS Eu 2.99 and a small carbon charge.

How can Mr O Leary's vehicle do it for so little, considering Stobart (Gov subsidised) charged around Eu 40 and Aer Lingus before them was about the same?

Only negative is the scheduled time. The early flight is too late for international hook up thereby necessatating a night stopover in Dublin.
