Fuse box making a fair bang at the day/night switchover

Its a bang like a single rap on the door. Ive always had it since I moved in and it hasnt bothered me. But now I have a dog and he thinks its a knock on the door and then barks every night when it switches over at 11pm which isnt good for the neighbours.But now I think about it Ive never heard such a bang in rental properties before, a clicking switch yes but not a bang.

Im not sure of the exact age of the fuse box but at a maximum it is 25 years old. Is such a loud bang normal or do I need a repair/replacement of the fuse box?

Most likely the contactor only needs replacement on your distribution board

Thanks meercat, is there a specific one or if I ask for a contactor in the electrical shop will they know what I mean. I wont be doing the job myself but might as well get the part in the local electrical shop

There’s loads of different types. Take a photo on your phone and bring it to the wholesalers or send it to your rec.
