My daughter started driving lessons - voucher given for 18th. The school is one of the better known ones. She has had 4 x hr lessons. She needs to complete another 3. They were every week. The driving instructor missed one, and said he can't now replace it until January. There is also 2 other 2 hour lessons left to do - one that they forgot to schedule initially, and one that was supposed to happen last Saturday, but despite my daughter getting a list saying it was scheduled for last Saturday, the driving instructor said it wasn't scheduled and never turned up. Now, he is telling my daughter that it will be Jan before he can put her in for any more lessons. They're refusing to give a refund for the lesson that the instructor did not turn up to, and the lessons that was supposed to be scheduled but wasn't and the final unscheduled and last lesson. Is this acceptable? What can we do in this situation. I would like a refund of the lessons that have not happened, but they are refusing a refund.

    Hi,

    that is unacceptable and illegal.

Here link to Citizens Info on how to make a complaint. You have paid for a service that

    1. Has not been provided (Missed lessons) and
    2. Remaining lessons will not be provided in a acceptable time frame.

My advice, contact head office of driving school by email, (and copy to the instructor) that you immediately require a full refund of all missed lessons and a full refund of all outstanding lessons.

Otherwise you are taking further action, contacting the RSA, Small claims, solicitor, etc etc

Here link to the RSA complaint form, select ADI (Approved etc)

    Best of luck
