Central Heating Power Flush - worth it?

Some of the radiators in the house are only barely warm in spots (mostly at the bottom).

We had the kitchen extended a few years back. New gas boiler and 2 more modern rads that push out loads of heat. Feels like this "unbalances" the heating as downstairs is always much warmer than upstairs.

Saw an ad for Power Flushing for 600 euro and was wondering if this would be worth doing?

If you live an area with hard water and or minerals such as iron and manganese then limescale and sediments can build up in your heating system, in such a case Power flushing will remove a lot of stuff in your rads and pipes.

It sounds like your system would benefit from a flush.

The only potential downside is chemicals they use to flush the system are corrosive so if you have old rads then the flushing may produce leaks.

House is less than 30 years old - Rads should be okay?

The problem that causes the need for a power flush needs to be solved first.

Do you have an open or closed system?

    Solid fuel back boiler/stove?

Did you ever have leaks in the system?

Are any of the radiators cold on the bottom?

What kind of flush was done when you got new boiler?

Turn off a few radiators that are heating all over, then check the ones that are not heating at the bottom centre to see if they now heat there.

I had a open dual fuel system(boiler stove and gas condensing boiler)..got a power flush done oct 2021 and yes it did make a small difference but I ended up taking rads off myself and flushing them with a hose in the garden.
