Hi, i have a Grant 50 / 90 Euroflame boiler. Looking to make better use of space in a back porch where boiler is installed and wondering can i move this outside, (3 yards away) to the back wall of the house. I realise a boiler can be installed outside but can this particular model? Will be getting a professional to do the work, i'm just investigating what's involved.

ok but boiler is not that new maybe 10 years or more again ask your plumber

boiler will need to have some kind of water tight enclosure

it will also need a frost stat for protection

which means you will have to be able to run a permanent live cable

also pipes will need to be well insulated

I do not know if this is correct..

I was told some years ago that for ever foot a boiler is from your house there is a 1% heat loss... this is based on the heat loss with feed and return...

The logic of the 1% loss doesn't stand up to scrutiny. What if your boiler was 30m away? Good DRY insulation is the answer.

As Jim says, that boiler isn't new.

Price the cost of moving it versus a new self contained outside boiler.

Not a lot I would think. Check on Adverts to see how much such items are making.
