Looking like theres some hope for a bit of travelling over the Christmas break this year im thinking of heading into a travel agency and picking a last minute deal after Christmas Day. Ive travelled for nearly three years solo out the other side of the world but havent a notion where to start or what to see over this side. Will most likely be travelling solo as well as all me mates are either tied to a woman or a farm here at the moment. Any tips for a mid twenties single fella mad for road?

    Better living everyone

Really depends on what type of holiday you are looking for OP.

Sightseeing, city breaks, lounging by the pool, nightlife? The world is your oyster depending on your preference

Go for it! Hostels are the way to go for solo travelers. You can't go wrong with any of the big cities in Europe - Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome, Berlin, Budapest, Prague. I did a multi-city trip inter-railing (Berlin-Vienna-Prague-Budapest) recently and it was a good mix of city and day trips to the country side. Highly recommend.

Solo travelling can be great once you approach it with the right attitude.

Most people enjoy meeting other people so staying in places where you'd meet others is a good idea.

When you mean "this side of the world" do you mean Europe?

If so it's going to be cold and dark in Europe in Dec/ Jan - maybe not the very best time to be travelling here if that's what you mean and also not so many other people will be travelling around Europe then either.

I'd recommend somewhere a bit warmer out East (Sri Lanka is amazing for example) or South / Central America?
