Hello, Installing new Gazco gas fire and getting new floors at same time. Have been told a hearth is required but can not see any safety regulation stating that. It is not open fire but behind glass inset in wall. Although I have asked it was never explained why and it is not needed in UK. Any know for sure to put mind at…

Hello,
Installing new Gazco gas fire and getting new floors at same time. Have been told a hearth is required but can not see any safety regulation stating that. It is not open fire but behind glass inset in wall.
Although I have asked it was never explained why and it is not needed in UK.
Any know for sure to put mind at rest and spare me cost of new hearth
