    hi guys

we have an old fridge (15 yrs plus) and the seal is starting to go on it, leaving the door open sometimes without us noticing....do you think it would be worthwhile repairing or just go ahead and buy a new one?

Depends on the brand and how much you paid I'd say. We have a Liebherr Fridge freezer that we bought more than 16 years ago and it wasn't cheap at the time. Over the years some of the plastic shelf parts broke. During lockdown I decided to tend to all those niggly little jobs that had been long-fingered, the fridge being number 1. I contacted the Irish distributor and was amazed to find that all spare parts were available for our fridge, job sorted.

It's easy enough to replace the seal on an oven or fridge, biggest worry is tearing it if you're not careful. Well worth a punt if the replacement seal can be got and it's not overly expensive Plenty of help on youtube for jobs like this.
