Claiming Tax for WFH

    Hi all,

I would like to claim back tax due to me while Working from Home. As part of the claim I would like to submit bills for ESB, Gas and WiFi. As I am currently sharing with other people none of these bills are in my name.

I can get access to these bills but was wondering if I can submit them under someone else's name. I can prove that they were paid via my Bank account so am hoping that would be sufficient proof.

Please let me know if anyone has encountered a similar situation. I am assuming this is a common scenario with the large number of people working from home due to the pandemic

    Regards

    Colm

You won't be able to claim the full amount of the bill, you'd only be able to claim for the portion that relates to you.

What you would get back versus the time you would spend and hurdles you would have to jump through wouldn't be worth it IMO

Sorry to jump on this but similar query. Bills are in wife's name, I WFH but she's a teacher

Anyone know if I can claim it? We're also jointly accessed so hoping it wouldn't make a difference
