Does anyone have a suggestion for a topping on a Madeira cake that is not icing? Don't want anything overly sweet on top.
Candied lemon and orange peel? Still sweet but not a coating. Or split it and fill with jam and whipped cream. Is there a reason you can't leave it totally plain?
Person wanting it doesn't like icing. I was trying to think of a topping which wouldn't have high sugar content. I guess the whole point of topping is sweetness, so maybe just a plain but boring cake.
