Driving my car vs instructors car.

I planned on learning to drive last year and between Covid and other things didn't really get going until the second half of this year.

I was dreading it but I've grasped a good bit of it. Obviously I need help in areas and have issues but they should be resolved eventually.

Here's my issue tough. When I'm driving my car I can get in okay( I'm learning so I still have issues) however my instructor car baffles me, the push button start auto handbrake the acceleration is a lot faster, the gears, etc.

Now if I drove the car for a while I'd get use to it. However when I feel my instructor thinks this fella is making no progress.

I know I could suggest using my car but I think he'd think I wouldn't be ready for that from what he sees.

    Any advice?

Use your car. When I was doing my lessons 2 years ago my instructor told me usually the first lesson or so is done in the instructors car, and once the pupil has a feel for driving they start using their own car. You want to be preparing and practicing in the car you will be doing your test in, most likely your car.

    Cheers.

I do intend to but I sort of feel stuck in the instructors until he sees an improvement.

I give another lesson with him in his car and see how we get on and then suggest it to him.
