been doing some weight lifting training at home with some dumbbells but end up some later with pain in the joints or surrounding area, its not severe pain but pain no the less in that if im lifting a box over my head the pain would kick in then mostly and cant complete the task and it can last for months,

Not much anyone on boards.ie can really do to help you other than suggest visiting a physio. If it's shoulder discomfort then it's potentially related to your weight training, yes.

Yeah that's definitely not normal. I'd go to a health professional if I were you.

Sounds like a shoulder impingement? Had it a few times myself, generally using weights that were to heavy and my form became compromised.
