Recommendations on learning resources?

    Hi all,

    I'm quite new to plumbing as I've only been a home owner for a couple of years, just wondering if you have any recommendations for learning resources? Ideally geared towards the systems we have here in Ireland. I'd love to find a comprehensive book covering the fundamentals. I'm not allowed post links apparently but there's a guy on youtube called DIY doctor who has a good series of videos called "Water and plumbing tutorial", that's been useful but I'd like to know more.

    You could try a local library and see what they have for free.

    DIY books are generally written and published in the uk, so books with irish content would be rare enough i think. I have a Collins DIY manual that ive found useful over the years. I see from a google search Collins, Haynes and City & guilds also have publications covering plumbing.

    On a practical home owner this course in Dublin may be worth a look https://www.courses.ie/course/diy-plumbing-course-tuesday-7-30-9-00pm/.

    The local VEC might be running such a course, or nearby. Make contact and see if such courses are running during the pandemic.

    Boiler and stove manuals are a great source of information and available for free
