Holiday request approval

Hi, I applied yesterday to request my holiday entitlements from the welfare, and today got a notification on my mygovid.ie account that said "Thank you for your recent jobseeker’s holiday request" and it had no further information on it like how I find out if it accepted etc

so I'm wondering if anyone can answer this from experience, how do you know if your holiday request is accepted? Did you get a notification? And where was the notification?

I've never heard such a thing before, perhaps it's new.

Put simply SW can not stop you going on holidays, your only obligation is to inform them, time and dates etc, so at a guess, they've acknowledged your notification your going on holiday and that's it. If you want piece of mind, perhaps just call your local intero centre 😉

That just sounds like a system response to your query. In other words, it's acknowledging the fact that you've sent it. I recently requested something from them, not this, and all I got was a generic "somebody is looking into this for you" note. I don't think it is the best at communicating, anyway. Unless it's absolutely urgent I'd leave it until Tuesday and then maybe try and make contact with a person. I am assuming that there is an ID with your request, which you could probably use.

Ah ok makes sense I didn't know if they had to approve or not, but I guess once you tell them that's all they care about! Thanks, for piece of mind though I did email them so I'll see what they say, if anything
