Ryanair Value fare v Regular fare baggage

Hi. I am trying to book a flight from Dub to Bhx for a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a child). We would like to take 1 carry on bag each and one large bag in total. I am confused by the options. The regular fare gives the option of a 10kg cabin bag, but is that one 10kg cabin bag per person? It seems to be as it adds €21 each which adds over €200 to the fare when all I want is to bring one 10kg bag in total. Ideally I guess I’d like to use the value fare and then add one large bag at the end of the booking) Am I misunderstanding this please?

The regular fare will allow you to bring a small backpack type bag and a carry-on 10kg bag each.

If you only need to bring one 10kg bag then it will definitely be cheaper to get the value fare and then add a 10kg bag for one passenger.

its a scam. I was on a recent FR flight to Germany, nearly everyone was a "priority" passenger.

check-in staff do not check what you are bringing on, saw plenty of bags that were clearly oversized.

you have this fight to get on the aircraft early, as the overhead bins get full.

this scenario may not be the norm on a UK flight.

You will have to book one persons flight seperate to everyone elses and add the bag to that person's flight. If you book all flights together they add the bag option to every passenger each way with no option to deselect. I had this issue at the weekend.

You don't need to book the flights separate - book the value fare for all - you can go into your booking and add additional bags at any time later.

Just buy the basic fare which includes the small carry-on bag at no additional charge. Then add the large bag to one of the travellers at one of the following steps.
