What Nail gun is best to fix skirting to concrete block walls

Hi all I am planning on ripping out all of my skirting and so on and replacing with newer version but with it being a timed job I want to buy a nail gun that will fix the skirting to concrete block walls question is what one should I buy ?

Have you used this yourself ? I have a compressor but I am thinking of going battery operated to make life easier in the long run.

Yep I have done a lot of searching and I am prepared to spend €1000 on a good one as long as it is good. I have a hallway to do then 4-5 bedrooms and kitchen sitting room etc so I have taken into account skirting and architrave for the whole house and to add €100 to each job overall the €1000 works out pretty cheap.

I will be using it on the back when fitting the boards to the concrete. I need to pin them to the wall to add the extra grip I will have 850 cuts to fit and I dont have that long to do it so I would like one person to be fitting the grip adhesive while I start pinning them to the wall overall meaning the install will be fast and long lasting.

Sounds like a temporary tack then rather than needing something permanent? Do you need to go to such an expense or could just try some test shots with something cheaper. Just a thought.

I have throught about all of the above but I want the nail gun to pin it to the wall where there is a hallow bit to really hold it in place. I plan on building an extention and doing a lot more work throughout the house over the coming years and I have found that my dewalt kit so far has helped in so many different ways and I would like to get a nail gun to have the same freedom of movement. I am looking into the second fix nailer from dewalt at the moment and its €500 which is not bad if it does the job I need

I have a bostitch version. It's good but thirsty for air. Doesn't like hard blocks and the nails are expensive.

I have seen that option my only issue is my compressor is not the biggest so it may starve I am thinking of a battery operated one for a few reasons.

If you really want to go all out, the hilti cordless nailer is one of the best out there. Hilti gear is frequently the brand of choice in the trade.

That said, I wouldn't be sinking the guts of a grand into a nailer to do a single house - maybe if it was kitting out apartment blocks for the next 5 years I would. A DIY grade corded machine for 10% of a hilti cordless will be more than adequate for the work you're describing.

That said, you can't beat the feel of a good tool in the hand.

I agree I could go hilti but I do have a full dewalt kit and would like to stay around that range i dont need to go all out but I do want the freedom and knowing the tool is there for the years to come for any job I may have

Thats one of the reasons I dont use it much. You need a decent sized compressor and they are noisy and often on site you only have power in one place so need loads of hoses .

Not what the cordless option are but I would like to go cordless if possible

I don't see how you're going to get consistent drive depth into concrete blocks with a nail gun, because the depth will depend on whether you hit a hard bit of aggregate.

Which exact gun and nails are you looking at? 15G concrete brads?

that is a major issue as well. hit a hard spot and the nail will bend or not go in enough.
