I paid gas networks a fee to connect the gas and they never mentioned an activation fee. when discussing packages with suppliers yesterday nobody mentioned this fee…

Hi everyone, hope this is the right place to post.
I got gas networks Ireland to install a gas line to my house last Monday and yesterday I set up a supplier. I paid gas networks a fee to connect the gas and they never mentioned an activation fee. when discussing packages with suppliers yesterday nobody mentioned this fee either.
in an email last night from my chosen supplier, they stated that an activation fee of €145 would be added to my first bill.

can anyone let me know is this standard? Should this not have been part of the gas networks fee?
