Carers Benefit question

    Hi,

My dad recently had a stroke and requires care at home. I currently work full time in civil service, I am thinking of applying for take carers leave and work less hours at work. I'm pretty sure he will meet the medical need part for carers leave. My understanding is that you can work up to 2 days or 18.5 hours in your current job as long as you don't earn over 332.50 net per week. I'm trying to calculate this, it seems I'm under that threshold if they count pension contribution (work deduction and avcs) and over it if they don't. Does anyone know if they include your pension contributions on payslip when they are calculating your reduced net salary.

Also if it was a case that I was over the threshold would I still get some carers allowance like a percentage or be entitled to nothing just whatever I earn from 2 days work? As if 2 days work excludes me from any allowance it might not be worth my while, I maybe better off applying for full carers allowance and not working at all.

    Any advice appreciated
