Water pressure issue after pipe hit during building work

    Hi there,

I recently had the wall knocked down between my kitchen and dining room. The builder hit a pipe in the wall and water was leaking out of it for a couple of days until a plumber fixed the issue.

As part of the building work I also had a new radiator installed on the wall of my kitchen beside where the pipe they hit is located.

I have been heating my hot water fine since the issue however I went to put the heating on for the radiators for the first time since the pipe was hit and the rads came on for a few minutes but then I got an error message on my boiler indicating the water pressure is low.

i repressurised it but I’ve noticed that the pressure gauge will not go as far as the number 1 on thr gauge. Once I repressurise, it fixes the issue but only temporarily. The low pressure warning disappears from the screen on the boiler and if I put the heating on, it will stay on for a few minutes but then the low pressure warning returns and I would have to repressurise again if I wanted to turn the heating on but would only work for a few mins before the issue happens again.

i understand that constant low pressure issues with boilers often indicate a leak in the system or an issue with the actual boiler. Would i be right in thinking this issue I’m having has been caused by the hit pipe not being fixed correctly and not necessarily a leak as such?
