He's bedding Megan Fox, even he ends up a hobo , He's been a success

Never heard of MGK. Eminem was huge 15-20 years ago. Are we talking rap here? Or biggest dick? Or mud wrestling? I'm gonna assume you are referring to fame/success etc, so will just say Em won.

    Won what?

MGK was a warmup act for fallout boy at the time, he was never big, his diss rap gave him about a week of fame. Eminem will go down in history as one of the pioneers of modern rap.

As for MGK, he's doing alright, some good songs, decent acting career, unfortunately he has a massive drug addiction but he'll never be as big as Eminem.

Understand where you might get that, but compared to her younger days she's not near as tasty.

It's not an ageist thing, she has too much work done, a woman that can age gracefully is more attractive than one that trys to cling onto their 20s

    I'm not saying I wouldn't.. she'd still get it

I see MGK just having some fun and hooking up with some pretty hot girls. That's the dream right? Who cares how long he lasts, let him do it. His first stuff had punk rap rock in it, He just didn't switch over night. And he was in his late teens when He started and now he's 30 whatever. Typically people change. Eminem is a good guy in general. He has done a lot for.his community's and the biggest thing! He got sober for everyone one else and most important, to be a better father. I try to look past his music career but a lot of his stuff hits home, so he's definitely one of the greatest. Kudos Marshall

Odds are MGK will be swtiching to country music after trying to talk bad about Corey Taylor and Slipknot. He's an average musician, has a few okay songs but really don't see him being a life time big deal.

Absolutely mental trying to talk **** about Eminem, no matter the opinion of him he's arguably one of the biggest people in rap.

Eminem was very good when he first came out. He then turned into a pop star and hasn't had a decent rap hit in years. No idea who MGK is. What competition were they in?

MGK is what you would get if you ordered Eminem off Wish 😆

gotta be a joke😀. But I'll bite. Eminem hasn't had a uk top 10 hit because rap isn't as commerical as it got in the 2000's, the sheep move on, had an album last year with 40m - 743m listens per track on Spotify, there's 18 of them. Some crackers.

    MGK - Machine Gun Kelly.

Skittles vs MnM. MnM wins especially the peanut ones.

Eh I don't know about that. Revival wasn't a great album really, but songs like Godzilla and Rap God show he's still ahead of the curve. He's just largely moved on from the character of Slim Shady. Personally I'd say Marshal Mathers LP is my favourite of his albums, but silly to say he's a pop star and hasn't had a decent hit.

TLDR of the issue between them. MGK (and others) tried to make diss tracks about Eminem to try and get popular and more recognition, Em largely ignored MGK (who was then an upcoming rapper) until MGK started making public comments about Em's daughter when she was still a minor I believe. Em obviously didn't like that, and had a single verse about MGK in a song which basically ruined MGK's career in rap. He went quiet for a year or so and then came back doing pop punk instead.

For some reason, MGK has now started going for Slipknot and Corey Taylor calling them "50 year olds in stupid masks" and some other nonsense, which of course has not gone well for MGK.

Never heard of this MGK lad until a few weeks ago when he was having handbags at dawn with McGregor.

He looks like a junkie so its head scratching stuff how Megan Fox is letting him get the leg over.

Eminem literally had a #1 single last year, from an album that also went to #1 in the US, UK and every country that counts.

The album made him the first artist to have 10 consecutive #1 albums in the US.

He's not as big as he used to be, but only because 20 years ago he was almost as famous as anyone has ever been.

Duets with Rihanna etc are pop shyte. I see on his latest album he's a song with Ed Fcuking Sheeran. He's become what he used to rap against. Revival, songs with Beyonce, Sheeran and Pink. Another rapper cum pop princess.

Pop music sells. Look at Sheeran and 1D. Shifting volume doesn't make it good music.

He did Stan with Dido back in 2000, who was also a popstar. Your logic is flawed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,321 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

You were the one who said he hasn't had a "hit" in a while. Believe it or not, a "hit" is a popular song. One of the strongest indicators that a song is popular is how many units its sells/streams.

He had a #1 HIT song and a #1 HIT album. So your assertion that he hasn't had a HIT in years is incorrect.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,177 ✭✭✭Fandymo

Jesus man, it's not exactly a fast moving thread. I never said he hasn't had a hit in a while. I said he hadn't had a "decent rap hit", which is subjective, in my opinion he's charted with pop songs and pop collaborations.

Believe it or not, "decent" is conforming with generally accepted standards of respectable or moral behaviour, or, of an acceptable standard; satisfactory.

    whilst

Rap is a style of popular music, developed by disc jockeys and urban Black performers in the late 1970s, in which an insistent, recurring beat pattern provides the background and counterpoint for rapid, slangy, and often boastful rhyming patter intoned by a vocalist or vocalists.

    You've covered off hit.

If you need a deeper explanation i can crack the crayons out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,321 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

I've covered "hit", and the song was a hit. Especially here in Ireland where it was #1 in the charts.

And you've covered off rap, which the song in question, Godzilla, unquestionably is. Performed by rapper Eminem featuring rapper Juice Wrld, taken from the rap album Music to be Murdered By.

So Eminem had a rap hit last year.

And thus concludes class. Don't forget your crayons!

As Tupac once said; in the rap and diss track game, it's not the winning, but the taking part that counts.

Well done Eminem and Machine Gun Kelly, a medal for both of you.

Not a great song, compared to his earlier stuff, in my opinion. Nowhere near that level. Why are Irish lads so whingy/butthurt about someone's opinion about Eminem's music??? It's laughable.
