Non-slim shower tray vs slim on legs

    Hello,

Another question, same shower refit. We have an old, non-slim 760x760 rectangular shower tray with an old waste trap that's really busted. We probably wanrt to replace the tray with something supporting a modern nice trap.

I am thinking of two options:

    • Get a deep-ish, non-slim shower tray. They are not very popular, but available at B&Q. The advantage is that in case the waste trap gives trouble again or children splash around, water won't flow out as easily. But, maybe they are unpopular for a reason?
    • Get a slim tray and also a riser kit with legs. The advantage is the ability to take off the trim and check for leaks. After all, the need for a refit happened because of a leak - and it took a good few months to ascertain the leak actually exists! It is a very small leak and we're still not sure what happened (possibly the PVC panels were not sealed well enough; we are tanking and tiling this time).

    Which option is better?
