    Hi,

A family member of mine is going through interviewing for a new role. He is a financial analyst, he worked in a really good company before and then jumped to a new company (Company B) but didnt pass his probation. Is it legally okay for him to not mentioning that he worked for company B in his CV and just say he was taking a break and traveled. Will the interviewer ever find out?

he feels quite embarrassed about it and does not know what to say if the interviewer ask why he didnt make it in his previous role.

    Thank you

Legally it is perfectly fine. There no laws regarding CVs.

Legally as above. But don't lie: only say travelling if you have really done some travel. Caring for a sick family member is a safer line to use very often.

Practicallty it depends how long he was there.

If it is listed and he is asked reason for leaving, just say that the temporary contract ended.
