Haven't heard about these in such along time, every six months or so you get article after article. Any one know if they will release them soon?

We were in lockdown from October until May or June (with a 3 week break for Christmas) so obviously no research was done in all that time. I have always thought that the jnlrs were a joke tho, on results day every radio station was saying we are "number 1", How could both both red FM and 96fm be number 1 in cork for example?🙄... Another thing about jnlr is that they grossly downplay the use of streaming services etc so you are led to believe that more 15 yos are listing to FM radio than Spotify, which anyone with a half a brain knows is nonsense.

I understand the limitations, but even in lockdown surely the JNRL would have worked out away to collect their research not needing face to face interactions.

AFAIK the radio stations have some agreement on how they release information on their stations. 2fm got into trouble with how the presented theirs a year or two ago.

Yes I remember that with 2fm, the jnlrs were released just after Tubs returned to Radio 1, so they added his outgoing ratings to breakfast republics ratings to make it look like breakfast republic had a very large audience all of a sudden. They are not the only ones though, I remember Fergal Darcy taking credit for an increase in afternoon ratings when the jnlrs were released only a week after he took over the slot, he got very pissy on twitter when people pointed out that these ratings reflected his predecessors time.

They don't measure 15 year olds on their own. It is 15 to 24.

7 in 10 of 15-24 year olds listen to radio every day, while 38% listen to Spotify.
