In Kilkenny for a few days holiday with family,2 boys aged 8 and 6. Did Castlecomer Discovery Park yesterday, lads enjoyed it. Going to look around city and castle today. What other activities would you recommend? Is the public pool good? Also where's best to park as we'll be driving....don't mind paying a few euro if car park is central. And finally, can you recommend good value family friendly restaurants? Thanks in advance.

Parking at Ormonde hotel is very handy for castle and town. I’m not sure about restaurants for families unfortunately.

The pet zoo in the Newpark is good but not on a day like today obviously. You could go on the train that goes around the city. The Medieval mile museum has a kids Lego treasure hunt thing. Check out the heritage week website as there may be kids stuff on it.
