Mark was such a lovely, enthusiastic, positive guy any time I met him through the Irish Fighting Game Community, which he put a lot of his seemingly-boundless energy into. A lot of people in that community developed friendships for life out of the work he put in.

I was extremely fortunate to call Mark a friend outside of Boards.ie for many years. I'm completely devastated that he is gone. He makes your life better just by knowing him. Caring, considerate, passionate and an absolute gentleman. I cannot count the number of times we stayed up as a group of friends playing board games until an ungodly hour. We went to Eurogamer in 2013 with another good friend and spent days playing games, eating good food and having a good laugh. He loved his rugby, his baking and his family and friends. Never afraid to put his heart and soul into something.

I'm typing through tears as I write because I cannot believe he is gone.

RIP my friend. The world is lesser this week.

The Anonymity of the Internet can sometimes be very strange.

I got a phone call on Monday telling me that a colleagues son had passed away over the weekend and was saddened by the news. We had met on multiple occasions at Rugby matches and other events over the years.

Only today do I see this thread and realise that despite a dozen years here on Boards as a user and a Mod ,interacting with Mark multiple times neither of us ever made the "in real life" connection between us.

He will be missed by all who knew him , in real life and virtual..

I met Mark many moons ago through my brother and their work.

We played some games, 5 a side football and talked about F1. I can't think of much more to say about him other than that he was truly a sound guy. One of the good guys.

I hadn't seen Mark in years but when my brother text me the other day to say that Mark had died I was truly saddened.
