Looking to purchase roller blinds for a new house in south Dublin. I see in the charter than company names can’t be mentioned on the forum but recommendations by private message with be gratefully accepted.

Other questions I have would be can anyone give me a ballpark figure for roller blinds per sq metre. 9 needed in total but a couple are quite big.

Considering motorised on a few tall windows if the cost isn’t terrible. Has anyone had motorised blinds installed and how do you find them? Worth the extra expense?

I'm also interested in prices, if anyone can provide that info, and also probable timelines to how long they take?

The only thing I can say to you blinds are not as expensive as you might think. I dont think anyone on here can give you rough prices because it depends on the size of the windows and what blinds you select. If the windows are standard sizes and you select a standard type blind it could only cost less than €500 . If you call some of the suppliers they will call out to your house and measure the windows for you and give recomendations on what would suit best. They also bring samples. This was free when I was sourcing blinds and I found them so helpful. Im in a different area to you but I think most blind shops offer this service.

Went to a few blinds places yesterday and unfortunately couldn’t get a quote. Apparently some of our windows are too big...

In particular two of our windows are about 4.5m high and apparently the maximum is 3.5m. Anyone know a company that will quote for a 4.5m high window.

I too have a very large window ( wall of glass basically )and got a blind made for it. The blind shop suggested this and organised it. It wasnt that expensive either and it was ready by manufacturers in a few day. This wouldnt be an unsual request nowadays. Ring around a few other shops. Just curious out of the places you tried do they only specialise in blinds - it seems silly they couldnt offer you a suggestion for the large windows.

One of the places called back and thinks they can do them - wasn’t to that clear on the details but is coming out on Tuesday to have a look.

Another place coming later in the week to see what they can offer.

i guess the issue is more with non standard the windows it’s hard to quote without seeing and measuring the actual windows

What are the exact measurements of the windows?
