Hi all Looking to break up a longish drive from Rome FCO to south of Bari with a one night stopover en route. Any recommendation for a charming town / good hotel combo? Just the two of us travelling.

When I fly into Fiumicino I head north rather than south, but if it was me I'd be stopping at Cassino for the history. However, Cassino is only 1.5 hours into a 4.5 hour drive so somewhere like Benevento would probably be a better bet. The 4-Star Hotel Villa Traiano doesn't seem to be too expensive, according to Trivago.
