Not really, I met him here years ago and we are good friends. He is in a very difficult situation and being a friend I agreed to keep his money safe in my account rather than him having it in other people's accounts he couldn't trust or sleeping with it under his bed. I never even considered this could potentially come up as an issue when applying for the citizenship.

Mods feel free to delete .. I'll ask elsewhere, thanks

Is that why you deleted your OP?

Holding multiple thousands on multiple instances for someone in your bank account, does sound suspicious, like you are being used or knowingly participating in allowing your account to be used to store or launder money for someone of ill repute.

There are numerous reports of people engaging in this and ruining their own record, personally I hope you get nabbed for it, what with applying for citizenship, enough shysters here already.

You are spouting absolute s** about stuff you've no clue about. The guy works harder than you'll ever do your entire life, the audacity.

Don't break your back falling off that mightily high high horse you're on. You've clearly no clue about the situation some people live in.

If you could read you'd have read it was a couple of hundred once a month and only once around 2000 due to him being stuck with no bank account.

OP was deleted cos I realised I'd obviously come to the wrong place with judgmental and bitter f**** like you on here.

Sounds like money laundering. Recommend you see a solicitor before contacting the Gardai.

    It isn't money laundering - so I won't be seeing a solicitor

You might think it isn't money laundering. The Gardai will most likely take a different view.

Your original post said it was numerous instances of a couple of thousands, sounds staright up liek money laundering, can you tell me how someone you claim works harder than me (you dont know me, so how would you know) but if they work that hard, they dont have a bank account??? what exactly are they working at?

Sounds exactly like money laundering, this has been in the news recently a number of times, you think a forum that deals with legal discussion, isn't the right place to highlight that? actual judgements on money laundering are worse and can ruin a persons financial/criminal record.

That you cant see this is highly suspicious, imo casts doubt on any application for citizenship.

That you had to resort to insults is very telling, but do tell, what works is the person involved in that they themselves cannot obtain a abnk account. I understood a bank account were difficult to come by, but that certain restrictions were eased.

Saying a few thousand on multiple occasions was just "resting" in my account just doesn't cut it.

If you aren't sure, highlight it in your application, if it's legitimate, then, it will be no problem
