Covid+ and fully vaccinated

Anyone experience positive test result when fully vaccinated?

Fully pfizered since June. Started feeling unwell yesterday - a persistent runny nose, slight cough, fatigue just feeling of general s@&te. Went for test not expecting it to be positive but it is.

Just wondering what to expect? I’m no worse but no better either.

I know somebody going for a covid test tomorrow, fully vaccinated and had covid in december. Id imagine you would want to be very unlucky in this instance to be positive.

This person has a dry scratchy cough, hot and cold sweats, no temp, bit of chest pain.

Marrs symptoms were relatively mild and no long-term loss of smell etc. That would not be guaranteed with his age and medical history (stroke, tumour) unvaccinated.

Basically, symptoms are likely to be less severe and recovery quicker if vaccinated, even with the increased chance of breakthrough infection from Delta.

Marr sounded worse tbh. Morgan talks alot, whereas Marr would be seen as a matter of fact type of person.

Per Marr:

"Two days after my first symptoms, I began to feel seriously ill. I had a high temperature, muscle ache, the shakes, a bad headache and flu-like cold symptoms. I couldn't smell anything - not aftershave, not coffee, nothing."

Bottom line both did not end up in hospital, which I think could have happened if unvaccinated.

5% of all tested positive cases are fully vaccinated people. I'd love to know the percentage of vaccinated people with covid that don't get tested. I'd hazard a guess that it's another 5%

But if not bothered to get tested probably not that sick, which is the point of vaccination.

I’m ok thanks. Temp keeps spiking and hot/cold flushes, muscle pain etc. I’m on inhalers and generally have a “bad” chest. Thankfully doesn’t seem to have settled in there as of yet - and hopefully it won’t. Panadol and water.

I prob would have written it off as a bad cold/flu due to change in weather but have vulnerable adult in the family so have always erred on side of caution. Still a shock to see a positive result though.

I was done earlier that my age group via the gp - and before my husband who is older and with same gp. I think the fact I’m on inhalers and would typically get a bout of bronchitis at least once a year did put me into one of the vulnerable groups.

Hopefully it won’t get much worse. Grateful to be vaccinated.

Yes.

My sister is the same so while not strictly in one of the groups would need steroids a few times a year so her GP vaxxed her as group 7.

Sure the NY Yankees are currently on their third outbreak since they were vaccinated. Doesn't seem that rare. Hopefully your symptoms don't worsen and you recover soon.

I got vaccinated a few months ago but when I was there they said you can still catch covid even with the vaccinations but you won't get as sick as if you weren't vaccinated.

I got a call a few months ago asking if I wanted to be vaccinated and I said yes. I was vaccinated before my parents and I have no health issues.

Who's to say that they wouldn't have had lesser symptoms of what they assume to be COVID if they hadn't been injected?

Indeed I always knew this, but I would have expected a different attitude to case numbers since then, sadly not, they are still treating this as if it were March 2020.
