    Hi All.

I have an 131 i40 that has a reverse parking camera and it makes life so much easier and I was wondering is it possible to get a front camera fitted as well, as the parking spaces in the undergroud car park are abit to tight for my liken.

You could probably get some seperate aftermarket one that would sit on the dash. Would parking sensors not be a better idea, I find they will bring me up to a safe distance without colliding.

cheers for that. I thought about the sensors but thought the camera might be better in tight spaces so I can see how close I am to the wall or kerb

Would you not just reverse into the space? That way you can use your mirrors and reverse camera to not hit things.

You can get a rear view mirror that doubles as a screen for a camera. It's triggered by putting car into reverse. If you wanted front facing the screen woukd be mirrored (there is sometimes a wire you cut to not mirror image)

You would need to decide how to turn on or off screen.

It would be difficult to use existing screen as it may be only designed to turn on in reverse and have one input that it mirrors.

Sensors are difficult as you need to drill bumper, and they don't work great at very very close distances

I've waited till I posted a reply.. but cannot you not use the windscreen.

Look forward. You should be able to see Infront enough to determine that you're not going to crash into the car/wall in front.

Don't some Japanese import cars have this sort of aerial in the front corner of the car to help the driver get the correct perspective of the position of their car.

But since the camera is so useful, how about reversing into the tight space.

    This too shall pass.

If it is an assigned space you could try hanging a tennis ball from the ceiling of the car park above your space. Install it so that it will touch the windscreen of the car when you are far enough into the space and you will know when to stop.

Simple, cheap, effective and won't require anyone messing with the wiring in your car.
