Looking to have a well bored in my own property. Is there any questions I need to ask the contractor when having a site inspection, not to say he cant be trusted or anything, just I've never had this done before.

    Thanks.

He'll charge you per metre. You don't want him going to New Zealand, so find out from him how far he'll go before stopping and trying another spot. Get prices and minimum flow rates also.

Make sure not too near any possible contamination such as septic tanks. The head of the well will also need to be finished properly and water tested.

Find out if this is included or what they do if water turns out to be contaminated.

Work out your piping and power cable route. Make sure you can get piping deep enough to avoid freezing.

That's all I can think of for now. Maybe run it all through your pump installer. He'll be aware of potential problems.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"
