Travel Rules - Vaccinated in the North

    Hi folks,

Live between the north and the south and took the vaccine in the north as it was much quicker. Now double jabbed and half tempted to book a holiday next month to Spain. Other half has her EU vaccine certificate as she was jabbed in the south. Talk was that Irish passport holders in the north would be able to avail of this cert but that seems like nonsense and the north will have their own certification coming out soon enough.

Long shot, but does anybody know if that will affect me travelling anywhere from Dublin? Have an address here, Irish passport, yet jabbed in a different jurisdiction. Meaning I'll have a passport from the north when it's released but does that mean I am subject to UK's rules on where you can fly (even if flying from Dublin). Are we all considered the same getting off the plane in Spain?

Doubt anyone will know but thought I'd ask before shelling out cash on a holiday to get turned away at the airport :)

    Cheers

    Fitz

Did you ever find this out? Or go on the holiday?

Wondering if I need anything more other than the NI issues digital cert + health form (and passenger locator form for coming back to Dublin) to go to Spain at the end of the month.

"live between north and south".. sure you do.

Follow the entry restrictions for your country, whether it's roi or uk.

You need spth and proof of vaccine anyway.. afaik, eu dcc is not an entry requirement

And even if it were, v easy to get one.. antigen test in dublin airport. Result will have qr code

Think it's grand. Got the north's cert and stuck it into the southern app. Been working in pubs so hope it'll work at the weekend when we go.

What's hard to believe about living between two places?

Have proof of vaccine now that the north got their vaccine passport working. Should be ok.

Asked about the availability of the EU Digital Covid Certificate to Irish citizens residing in Northern Ireland, Mr Coveney repeated that arrangements for the provision of vaccination certificates to Irish passport holders in other jurisdictions will be considered once the initial roll-out is in place.

Did it go ok in the end with the NI Covid passport and SPTH?

For anyone wondering, it was fine.

Dublin airport was Boarding Pass and Passport.

Spanish airport was Passport at passport control and then SPTH form after.

No bother at all. Northern vaccine passport was stuck into the Southern app and flashed it at the air hostess. SPTH was a bit trickier as it wouldnt accept the QR code in my Southern app, presumably because it's not actually an EU vaccine passport. However no issues on the Spanish side.
