My vetting came back in about 4 weeks or so.

It's general office work. Number of different sections you can be appointed in, so that would influence what you're work load would be.

My vetting took 22 weeks to come back.

It seems to vary from place to place.  I'm not too impressed where I am and how we are treated but others have had a very positive experience.

small enough station. am on the transfer list and mobility list but could take ages.

Are you treated different than gardai? are gardai not nice to civilians?

Hit and miss. Some are absolutely lovely but some are so rude and treat us like we are bottom of the food chain.  At the moment I have 6 'bosses' who can give me work to do. I have two fairly big portfolio's to look after myself but doesn't stop some members just dropping a statement on the desk for typing..

Hi all, I'm under consideration for clerical officer for an Garda Siochana in Dublin. I know it's hard to know exactly what the job entails or where I will be located. Just looking for anyone's experience? Is in mon-fri, 9-5. Seen as the guards work 24/7.
